About the artist
Matt Dolby's work is heavily influenced by nature. Focusing on patterns, texture, and technique. Using high contrast and motion to give his work a sense of liveliness. Growing up in Delaware at the beach and going to college in St Augustine, Florida the eastern coastline was a huge part of his upbringing and can be seen throughout a lot of his work. Having lived out west in states such as Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, and Nevada there's also a strong western influence in his work after cowboying for a living. Bringing a twist to the traditional Japanese style of printmaking with the rough western feel in his art. Focusing on using traditional Japanese inks, tools, and handmade rice papers.
